Course Description

1501. Medical Terminology. This course will provide a basic understanding of the origin and components of medical terms needed to reach the goal of learning the language of health care. Included in the content will be definitions, pronunciation, spelling and proper abbreviations. Inherent in comprehending medical terminology would be the review of anatomical structures and systems involved in the functioning of the human body; as well as, diagnoses, surgeries, diagnostic tests and pharmaceutical terms needed to understand patient medical care. This is an online course. Prereq.: None. 3 s.h.
