Course Description
8995. Dissertation in Health Sciences. HRS 8995 is the culminating research experience of the Ph.D. program in Health Sciences. The student is expected to design, propose, conduct, analyze, report and defend a topic that is germane to their area of interest and expertise. This project should be meaningful and contribute to the body of literature in their profession. Prereq.: Completion of Doctoral Comprehensive Examination.

| 8/24 | Dissertation Chair and student agree on what work is to be accomplished during the semester. Each student should expect to contact their advisor and set up this meeting in the first week. | You must meet with the dissertation chair to set the standard for all milestones throughout the semester (this should be also approved by the dissertation committee). It is required that students and research advisor meet every other week for routine updates. |
| 11/2 | Week 11: Announce dissertation defense | Monday is the last day to announce dissertation defense |
| 11/9 | Week 12: Defend research | Monday is the last day to formally and publicly defend your dissertation. |
| 11/23 | Week 14: Submit Final Written Dissertation to Graduate College | Monday is the last day to submit written dissertation manuscript as agreed upon per project plan along with other completion documents to Graduate College. |
