Course Description

3719R. Organic Chemistry Recitation 1. An introduction to the preparation and analysis of organic compounds. Discussion of CHEM 3719 material and approaches to problem solving. Required for chemistry majors. Concurrent with CHEM 3719. 1 s.h.

Organic compounds, reactions, and theories. The typical preparations and procedures of analysis. Organic compounds underpin Biochemistry and Genetics, and organics are the backbone of the pharmaceutical and petroleum industries. Material covered in Chemistry 3719 (and 3720) is relevant to tests used for entry to professional & graduate schools in the US.
