Course Description
4851. Painting Studio. Painting Studio course will expand students’ knowledge and practice of painting processes beyond introductory assignments, and in relation to both historical and contemporary painting practices. Use of variety of materials, mixed media painting processes as well as a range of technical and conceptual strategies, the course will provide avenues for divers investigation of painting practice and a solid foundation for personal expression. Students focus on critical thinking, research and enhancement of individual painting methodologies. Introduction to professional development strategies including proposals writing, exhibiting and promoting artwork. May be repeated up to 12 semester hours. Prereq.: C or better in ART 2650 or permission of instructor. 3 s.h.
