Course Description

5880. Vocal Pedagogy. A comparative study of physiological and psychological approaches to voice instruction and their application to private and class instruction. Prereq.: Two years of applied voice classes. 1 s.h.

Week Eight  Chapters 9-10 of Boytim handbook (see above)  practice pianoside manner

Week Nine and Week Ten Specific  Individual Assigned readings to be share with class from reserve shelf books by Richard Miller, James C. McKinney, and Robert Thayer Sataloff

Week Eleven  summarize assigned masterclass videos from Youtube 

Week 12 Veteran's Day  no class, but learn assigned vocalises 

Week 13  perform assigned vocalises in class

 Week 14 Day before Thanksgiving, no class

Week 15  any additional matters before finals
