The Ohio Small Business Development Center (SBDC) helps entrepreneurs realize their goals of business ownership and expansion. The SBDC assists existing businesses in developing and retaining their competitive advantages. Counseling, training, research, technology transfer, and export assistance are offered in the start-up, operation, and expansion of small to mid-size businesses. Emphasis is placed on the use of strategic business planning and basic principles of enterprise development.

The SBDC is partially funded by the Ohio Development Services Agency and the U.S. Small Business Administration and is one of over 950 such centers in the United States. The SBDC also houses the International Trade Network which provides consulting services to businesses who want to initiate or expand international trade activities.

WCBA students are involved with the SBDC through class projects, independent studies, and internships. Collaboration between the SBDC and the WCBA provides a great benefit for students, faculty, and small businesses.
